Boeheim decision reversed

New York state’s high court on Tuesday unanimously reversed two prior decisions throwing out a defamation lawsuit against Jim Boeheim, ruling his comments that two former Syracuse ball boys were lying about being sexually abused to get money were not opinions protected under free speech. Lobbying for drone research

Syracuse University briefed government officials on its research efforts on drones as part of its most recent lobbying efforts, which totaled $70,000, in its third quarter lobbying report filed Monday. Click here.



Joe Biden visits Syracuse

Vice President Joe Biden, an SU College of Law alumnus, spoke at a hangar near Syracuse Hancock International Airport on Monday to rally support for U.S. Rep. Dan Maffei (D-Syracuse). Biden discussed the strengthening of the middle class and higher education. Click here.

Twenty-one paintings by Syracuse University alumni are featured in an exhibit called “Painting Alumni Retrospective” at the 914Works gallery. Senior painting major Paul Weiner organized the exhibit because he wanted to feature paintings from different generations of alumni. Click here.

Lenora Monkemeyer, a resident of Livingston Avenue and a 1973 Syracuse University alumna, has been living without water, heat or electricity for many years. SU students who live nearby have been gathering donations to help Monkemeyer. Click here.
